There are many ways to not let stress take over your life. I’ve been told that stress is an UNNECESSARY thing in our life and that we must never let it control our lives. Stress hinders productivity and can be a major health hazard especially in the fast moving corporate world. Here are some ways on how to get rid of stress once and for all…

1. Change your job
Yes, I said it: QUIT your job and get a new one! Something that will pay the bills but at the same time reduce your stress levels greatly. Who needs a job where you dread waking up to? You can opt to go freelance part time then gradually make the switch once you’ve built your own network of contacts.

2. Take a holiday
There’s nothing like a refreshing holiday when you are feeling burned out. It does not have to be an exotic location abroad, just take a few days off and go to the local beach, stay at a friend’s or at a 3-star hotel – it doesn’t matter!

3. Chocolates, chocolates, chocolates!
Chocolate has been known to increase endorphine, a feel good hormone in the brain. How else will you be able to explain why some women prefer chocolates over sex?

I’ve read about a site called www.stressinstitute.com which has really inspired me to write this post…

Can you imagine the boredom as you wait in the colorless waiting room, reading old Reader’s Digests and inhaling the scent of mothballs wafting from the nurses’ uniforms? Okay perhaps I admit that t am a tad bit afraid of visiting the dentist but the least they can do to help alleviate the fear is by offering a myriad of interesting things to do in the waiting room!

For example one can play games on handheld consoles like the Sony PSP or Nintendo DSL. Dentists should invest in a shipment of these – that will definitely encourage the kids to visit the dentist more often~ Of course, they would HAVE to chain the gaming consoles to the table, heh heh…

Then dentists could also provide up to date comics and graphic novels on the table. The books would be so gripping that patients will have to bring the books along to the treatment room, and they won’t even notice the pain! Or the drilling sound.

Finally they could perhaps employ nurses who are funny in nature – they can tell jokes and patients would laugh their way to the dentist!

Recently visited a Fairfax cosmetic dentistry site and that was how I was inspired by this post…

No it’s not that I don’t have a social life, I just lack the time to play golf, one of my all time favorite activities to indulge in. So I’m drafting my New Year’s resolutions and that is to allocate more ME time… to play golf! For that I’m getting some brand name golf clubs for myself, and I’m already browsing some branded golf bags at ShopWiki.co.uk. Awesome site, you pick the product and you get to see the thousands of shops listed that carries the item of your desire!

I was in third or fourth grade when I learned that our tongue can taste differently based on the different zones upon its surface. So amazed I was that I actually conducted my own experiment to taste something sweet, something bitter, something sour…

I am still fascinated that we can taste sweet stuff and since then I’ve gotten a sweet tooth for things that are well, sweet. My favorite were Mars Candy bars bought from the shop just around the corner. Mom would allow me just a small bar every week but sometimes when I was feeling naughty I’d snuck out to buy my own when the craving got too bad! The shopkeeper, dear Mrs. Windley, even gave me a bar for free when she saw my mournful face outside the shop. Luckily I didn’t grow up to be an obese kid or my mom would put the blame on poor Mrs. Windley for sure

I also love Rock Candy for their delightful texture. They are rather cheap too, during my days as a school kid.

And believe it or not, I grew up wanting to open my own candy store! You may think it’s laughable but candies can do so much good to the world, making everything taste sweeter and un-bitter. For that I’d have to get a wholesale candy source first… Anyone knew any?

I love looking at old photos in my computer. There were many of them inside my many folders and what I did after looking at them was I loaded up the best photos to Flickr and Photobucket and even saved them in my Facebook folder. But that was not enough, because I had TONNES of photos and I didn’t know how else I can preserve them in case anything untoward happens to my hard drive.

Following the advice of a friend on Facebook after I posted my predicament, she suggested I download the basic package from an Online Backup site called iDrive. I’ve never heard of iDrive before but I was VERY pleased with their site. The designs were pleasing and easy to navigate. After seeing that the Pro version only costs $4.95 a month, I decided to sign up immediately!

I read about a man who calls himself “NO Impact Man” because he tries to reduce his carbon footprints in order to “end our environmental crisis”. The No Impact Man is actually Colin Beavan, and the more I read about his green endeavors to reduce carbon footprints and creating a greener environment minus all the wastage, the more impressed I am and the more I want to do what he does. But doing what he did would meant eliminating daily necessities, items of comfort and convenience such as toilet paper and take-out dinners, so I don’t think I can do it right now. But what I can do in my own small way is try to cut down on waste and recycle whenever I can.

I asked my brother who is an architect and he tells me that he too, can hopefully do his part in creating a greener tomorrow for our children. He’s taking leed certification classes to hone his green building expertise. Those comprehensive leed classes will enable him to be more well versed in green design, and ultimately make him a future LEED Green Associate. I’m proud of him for thinking so far ahead. All the best bro!

Let it be known that I rarely watch sports but I do have a soft spot for golf. Golf can be a very exciting game 0 who says you need to be in extreme sports to feel the rush? – and I happen to think that one of the best golf icons of all time is none other than Tiger Woods himself. Whether you like golf or not I think we can all agree that he is a household name, and everyone from the cab driver who drove me to work this morning to the lady who prepares my lunch at the deli knows who he is!

If you have a penchant for golf and would like to be a world number one champ like Tiger Woods, you need to have talent and skills. I can’t tell you how to obtain talent, but I can suggest you to enrol in a reputable
golf school and learn all you can about golf. There are many golf schools these days and they offer comprehensive courses that will have you succeed in a golfing career in no time. Imagine owning an Associates of Science Degree in golf in a little over a year!

Good luck, golfing fans!

I’ve quite a soft spot for women who wear pearls as jewelry.

I’ve quite a soft spot for women who wear pearls as jewelry. Whether it is an elegant pair of pearl earrings or a strand of beautifully shiny pearls around a girl’s lithe and alluring neck, pearls can enhance your loveliness and capture the timeless beauty of your physique. Jewelry aside, here are some fun facts that will enrich your knowledge on pearls!

1. Did you know that it’s next to impossible to find a pearl in your dish of oysters in the seafood restaurant? It will be a very delightful surprise but it just does not work that way. The edible oysters that we eat are not used for pearl cultivation so don’t expect to get a freebie the next time you chow on some oysters!

2. Did you know the only tool you need to easily determine if a pearl is fake, is by using your TEETH? Just slide the pearl across your teeth gently and if you can detect a hint of grittiness then the pearl is the real deal! If it’s smooth and “plasticky” chances are that it’s a fake

3. If you ever wondered which is more precious: cultured or natural pearls, chances are that cultured pearls MAY fetch a higher price than natural ones. Natural pearls are rare, true, but they may not be as superior in size or color than man-made ones!

You can also learn more about pearl types at LagunaPearl.com which incidentally also has some of the most delicately made pearl jewelry. Their Tahitian South Sea pearls would complement any girl’s evening gown and create a splendid look just by wearing select pieces of pearl jewelry. For those who want simple pearl jewelry to match their resplendent wedding gowns, the Akoya pearls are your best bet! Affordable and elegant, no girl can ever say no to pearls!
